The Drop Dive (DD) is a very simple technique in which the spearo freedives without coming into direct contact with the bottom and aims to locate a prey, supervising the deeper zones of the area, capturing a prey outside the hole by approaching it in the open water, or a combination of all the above. In simple words, with this technique we can simply dive down on a fish we viewed from the surface, place a shot (drop-dive-bomb it) and then swim up!
Drop Dive is a technique taught in the first level of spearfishing training.
